Spain – Calella de Palafrugell 17th-23rd September 2006

We caught our Ryanair flight to Girona from Bournemouth, there are no cheap flights to Girona from Bristol. Pauline & Mike picked us up from the airport and an hour later we were at Artiga apartments. We had a lovely view over the town and beaches.
Our first four days were spent on various beaches sunbathing and snorkelling. We saw fish and Jellyfish. It is a pretty town and the water is nice and clear.
The apartments have a lovely big pool but there was a few dead frog in it, they jump in at night and cannot get out, we rescued one. There is also table tennis and a tennis court but we didn’t have any rackets to play.
We found out from the newspaper that there is political stuff happening in Thailand, we may have to change our world tour slightly and fly straight into Malaysia instead?
We ate out twice at La Clova where you get a three course meal and a drink for 8.95 euros and once Leon in La Franc on our last night. Our last full day was cloudy and windy but it was nice to rest, we walked down to the town and watched the waves crash in on the beach . On the day we flew back it was raining in Spain, we had a good flight and it was cloudy until the top of France with the remnants of hurricane Gordon. We flew over the Isle of Wight and the Solent landing in sunny Bournemouth and saw Steve’s brother Roger through the window in the departure lounge as he was about to jet out to Spain.
Thank you to Pauline and Mike for taking us to and from the airport and to Steve’s parents for letting us stay with them in the apartment.
Helen & Steve xxx
