Spain September 2007

On 17th September we flew out to Spain for the third year on the trot. Finally this year we could fly from Bristol, thanks for the lift Roger.

We had a very nice week in Calella de Palafrugell and spent our days mainly on the beach and snorkelling. One day we walked up to the botanic gardens and another day we walked to Tamariu.

As usual the week went by far too quickly and before we knew it, it was time to come home. On the plane Helen was about to sit in the emergency exit seat over the wing when the air hostess asked her her age as children aren't allowed to sit in those seats! She was quite flattered.

Before we knew it we were back in the UK, thanks for the lift from the airport John.

Thanks to Steves parents for inviting us and all the nice meals out and to Pauline and Mike for the airport runs in Spain.

Raia's 1st Birthday Party September 2007

On 2nd September we set off for Leicestershire. Having travelled a total of 24 miles we got stuck on the m5 for one and a half hours! The motorway was then reopened and we just about made the party in time.

The party was held in the back garden at Deb and Mike's new home and there were lots of babies and toddlers playing in the ballpool and sandpit. Raia enjoyed her day especially when we all sang her happy birthday.

Deb and Mike were good hosts and we all enjoyed our day. It was then time to set off all the way home.

Helen's birthday 26th August 2007

After years of wanting a greenhouse Steve bought me one for my birthday this year. It took him and his dad quite a few days in the pouring rain to build it in the tight space available (thanks Norman). As the forecast was good for once I had a last minute BBQ.

Dad and Heather popped over in the morning and gave me an mp4 player for my birthday. Then the sun came out and we had a BBQ. Steve had made me a nice chocolate cake which we all devoured in a few minutes.

Steve also took me out for a meal on bank holiday Monday. Thanks to everyone for your pressies and cards, I even got a card and gift voucher from work which was nice as it was only my first week.
