Autumn Show -Yatton Horticultural Society

Helen entered the 3 photographic categories in the the Yatton Autumn Flower Show. She got two 2nds and a 3rd.
This, combined with her results from the Spring and Summer shows, meant she won the Valerie Watson Trophy for the most points in the Spring, Summer and Autumn Shows.

She collected her trophy on the stage and it has now been engraved.

Walking Poppy, November 2007

Poppy has finally had all of her injections so we can start walking her.

Our first proper walk was along Clevedon sea front, it took a while as people kept stoping to stroke and hold her she flaked out a bit at the end and Helen carried her back some of the way.

The next day we went to Burnham beach, it was a glorious still sunny day, there was even a family on the beach with kids building sandcastles. She played with other dogs, luckily the sea was just a bit too far out for her to sample.

We have also been to Westonburt Arboretum which was lovely even if a bit late for most of the autumn colours.

Roger's 50th Birthday Party

It was the big Five O for Steve's brother, Roger, on October 24th, and his daughters, Sara & Donna, had arranged a surprise party on the previous Saturday.

It was held at The Bath Arms in Cheddar and they did a great job in assembling a motley crew from Roger's past and present. Sara was there all afternoon putting up balloons and embarrassing photos!
Roger duly arrived with Pat, Steve & Karen Tindall, who'd got him there on the pretext of "they'd heard it was quite nice" and the rugby world cup final was being shown. He was totally unsuspecting and gobsmacked as the huge cheer rang out when he came through the doors accompanied by shower of party poppers. Big sis Pauline and Mike had even flown over from France to be there.
A good night was had by all and there was a live band called "The Age" (one of whom used to in Edison Lighthouse) which kicked in after the rugby had finished - which they'd wisely decided against trying to compete with.

Well done again to the girls for organising the whole thing, and Happy Birthday Rog!
